I bought this receiver from Crutchfield. I needed to replace the factory stereo in my 96 Pontiac. I was being really picky because all of my interior lights are red and I wanted something that was red as well (I know, silly consideration). I also needed something that I could hook my mp3 player up to. This stereo fit the bill perfectly.
It has two ways of hooking the mp3 up, either through the USB or through an Aux cable. My brand of mp3 wasn't on the Sony list, but it works just fine. The Cd player is nice and clean sounding (with factory speakers).
The options are a bit of a learning curve for me, but I am beginning to get used to it. The seven preset EQ3 settings are nice, and I recommend playing with them to decide which one you like best. There is the option of creating custom equalizer settings, but I haven't played around with that yet.
Radio comes in nice and the station memory is easy to work with and gives you ton of spots for saving (18 for fm and 12 for am, I think). It also beeps if you shut off the car and forget to take the faceplate off. Kinda handy if you are a little scatterbrained sometimes!
I do have a little issue with sun shine hitting it and being unable to figure out what I am pressing, but the remote makes up for that. The remote is nice, compact, and easy to navigate.
Also, make sure you get or have a faceplate case for it. It doesn't come with one in the box, and the lettering is screenprinted onto the surface. If you want to be able to read it for a good long while, get a case.

Also: Since I ordered from Crutchfield directly, I received all of the install stuff free (wiring harness, dash kit, antenna adapter). It made installation a breeze. If you get the receiver, check out the install accessories as well. It will make life much easier.
