My Hp iPAQ 1945 arrived in perfect condition and is a fine improvement from the HP Jornada 548 I had for 5 years. The old PDA was used everyday and became a big part of my life. This new one improves upon the Jornada in speed, screen resolution, great color, and program availability. If you can find one used, buy it!Get more detail about HP iPAQ 1945 Pocket PC.
I thought this product was great. I had a prior Ipaq and upgraded when it finally went south after several years of use. I was impressed with this models speed and ease of use. I love the keyboard as it make entry very fast. I use an advanced medical program to access disease processes, check prescriptions, and drug interactions. This model handles it very well. The battery life is fine. I use it constantly. The case is nice but somewhat awkward (chairs with arms, seatbelts...).
The one negative of the product is the screen is not designed to withstand the slightest impact. Drop it and its gone (cracked...). I made the mistake of putting it in my shirt pocket and it slipped out while picking something off the floor. While my phone and former ipaq handled years of clumsiness, this product will absolutely not. It was an expensive mistake, but has not prevented me from buying another. I have planned at least 6 successful road trips with this software. It is fantastic and has some really great features. It is so much better than a portable gps for multiple stop planning, specific routing and it can still do turn by turn with the best of them. I would never go on a long trip without it. POI are sometimes outdated/nonexistant but for the most part it can get you what you are looking for. Favorite features are gps speedo/altitude and route tracking, it's nice to retrace your route when the trip is over.

I searched all the local stores to find a PDA. Everyone said that it's not sold at stores anymore, because the cell phones had cornered this market. I then searched online, and found tons on Amazon. The product was delivered, and received in 2 days. I absolutely love this PDA, because I can use it to keep track of daily appointments, and also go wireless. There's so many applications to download. The battery can be charged in the cradle, or just take the plug with you. I'm thrilled, because it actually keeps me on tract with daily chores. :-)Get more detail about Compaq iPAQ 3955 Color Pocket PC.

If you still have a 3800 and plan on using it, you're probably aware that certain aspects stop working, namely the battery or the stylus won't stay attached despite the fact it still clicks when placed into the stylus silo.
The easiest way to address the famous dropping stylus is taking a piece of electrical tape and wrapping around the top portion of the stylus about 1/2 inch below the top point of the stylus that typically fits between your thumb and index finger while writing. Keep wrapping layers of tape until the stylus fits snug again. Be advised that over time you'll have to add more tape, read on and look at my user submitted photos to find out why.
We aren't going to describe how to remove the motherboard or replace the screen, it isn't impossible but we didn't have to repair these components and refrained from fully disassembling the iPaq just for curiosity.
Disassembly:
Required Tools:
Torx screw driver (Home Depot Husky P/N HD-74502U is perfect for this)
Smaller flat head screw driver, typically used for computer and electronics Home Depot Husky P/N HD-74501U is perfect for this)
Needle Nose Pliers (Comp USA P/N 87609-NmP is perfect for this, if you can still find a pair)
Can of compressed air
Rubbing Alcohol
Q-Tips
Phillips screw driver with small bit if removing the circuit /mother board.
Nylon electrical tape
1. On the back of the iPaq are six visible torx head screws, four at the principal corners and two others at the southern points by the reset button and data / charger conduit. REMOVE ONLY THE FOUR AT THE CORNERS and ignore the bottom two, the two bottom screws are only necessary if you're removing the entire circuit board to access the screen.
2. Lay the iPaq face down on a clean surface.
Use your flat head driver here to gain some leverage in the side seam, this iPaq isn't tightly fastened when compared to opening a BlackBerry and hardly tight when compared to an iPod. CAREFULLY, AND WE STRESS ... CAREFULLY SEPARATE THE BACK FROM THE FRONT HALF BECAUSE THE BATTERY CONNECTOR IS A DELICATE RIBBON CABLE THAT ISN'T EASILY REPLACED !!!
3. REFRAIN FROM USING YOUR COMPRESSED AIR UNTIL YOU'VE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY !!!
Open the back panel towards the head phone jack like opening a book and using the longitudinal side of the headphone jack as the hinge. With your needle nose pliers, unplug the ribbon cable from the battery / back panel , USE THE PLIERS TO PULL STRAIGHT UP AND REFRAIN FROM ROCKING IT OUT SIDE BY SIDE,, ROCKING IT OUT CAN DAMAGE THE CONNECTOR.
4. This is a good opportunity to use your compressed air and blast out any dust and scum, NEVER SHAKE A CAN OF AIR BEFORE USAGE OR HOLD THE CAN AT AN ANGLE GREATER THAN 45 DEGREES BECAUSE YOU CAN SPRAY MOISTURE INSTEAD OF AIR. If you've already sprayed moisture onto the mother board your chance of damage will be much less if you disconnected the battery. You can wait for the moisture to dry out and is often white in appearance until it fully evaporates. If you can't wait, then take a Q-tip and discharge any static before you dry off any moisture marks.
5. Take your Q-Tips and dip in the rubbing alcohol to clean off any plastic components such as the stylus silo, you may notice what seems like black flecks of contamination inside the iPaq. These flecks are the result of rubber / polymer foam deterioration and is why the stylus won't stay put. The stylus silo functions with two major components, a spring ejector at the very bottom which is used to "eject" or pop the stylus up when you press it, and a friction block rubber foam polymer on the back panel that holds the battery. Over time this friction block will break down from wear of removing and inserting the stylus, it breaks down even quicker if you stored the iPaq in a glove box during the summer months. There are two of these blocks on the back panel and the other one acts as a contact buffer to protect the power connector on the motherboard. DON'T ATTEMPT TO STEAL THE PROTECTOR BUFFER because it is thicker and you'll have difficulty trying to glue a flat block of rubber into a semi circle silo. You can use your compressed air to blast out as much of the loose rubber here and if you're a real neat freak, you can use a Q-Tip with the alcohol to remove all the rubber flecks. Chances are the rubber flecks have semi melted to the back panel from whatever summer heat that broke it down in the first place and trying to clean it will only satisfy your obsessive compulsive disorder.
If you're replacing the battery, use your flat head screw driver to pry the battery pack from the back panel, the battery pack is glued and can be gently pried off by starting at the corners, then when all four corners are pried, start the mid points between each corners, again rotating as you go along. IF YOU STILL CAN'T REMOVE THE BATTERY, then pry again this time at the mid points between the corners and the first loosened mid points, continue this process until you've remove the battery pack.
Attach your new battery pack to the back panel, ensure the connector is facing outward and on the bottom (duh). If your replacement battery pack didn't come with a double sided adhesive strip, don't fret because you can simply use a piece of cellophane tape rolled back onto itself make a quick double sided tape while reassembling the 3800, this will be adequate because the battery won't move after the 3800 is put back together.
Reconnect the battery connector, this can be easily accomplished with your thumb and ensure you press straight down while supporting the back panel and battery on a solid surface or by holding the back securely in the palm of your other hand.
An iPaq is tighter than a ducks butt when assembled and nothing will come loose inside even an unfastened battery pack as long you can keep it positioned during the reassembly.
You can test the successful battery replacement by turning the 3800 on before the reassembly, be careful not to touch the motherboard when doing so with your skin or anything metal.
Replace the screws and don't overtighten, a good rule of thumb is tighten an electronic fastening screw just as tight as you would a tube of toothpaste, overtightening metal onto plastic will just strip the plastic threads or you'll just end up breaking torque and your screw driver will strip the screw after it breaks out and you'll have a much harder time removing that screw in the future.
Tightening screws is like driving in snow, the objective is traction and avoid spinning out !Get more detail about Compaq iPAQ 3835 Color Pocket PC.

I bought this camera last week after getting frustrated with the ultra-short battery life with NiMH batteries on my Kodak cameras.
- The camera is slick! Very small and very smooth operation
Goodies like on screen live histogram helps you capture better images
- Very Long battery life - I took the battery out of the box and used it without charging it. Captured about 80 shots so far (most with flash) and it still is showing about 3/4 battery available. I have read other user stating that it really goes all the way up to about 380 shots on a SINGLE charge. This is what I love about this camera.
- Large LCD (no view finder) makes taking pictures easy)
- Easy and intuitive controls on the camera back
- Efficient power management (like lens automatically withdraws when reviewing pictures, auto shut down when idle)
- Photos are good (I am a casual photographer - not professional). I would not rate them excellent - the Kodak had better pictures
- The camera does not like very bright light sources in front of it. The LCD as well as the picture taken has pink/purple streaks on it when bright light sources are present. Not very good
Overall - a pretty good camera given what you pay for it - under 150$ and reliable quality from Sony!

Well, it works. It resists splashes, but its faceplate is giant. You would like you would get a high-res display or some benefit to having such a big faceplate but nope. I bought this because it was pretty, I should have been looking at features like bluetooth audio for example. It works as expected and sounds great, the over sized faceplate and price and the lack of bluetooth are the only cons. Also don't buy this unless you can mount it somewhere very easily accessible because the display is hard to read at odd angles.Get more detail about Sony CDXH910UI Marine CD Receiver MP3/WMA/AAC Player with USB Wire for iPod and USB Devices (Black).
The Viliv Tablet is a great Mobile Internet Device with an Intel Atom processor so its fast.
Its 7" screen is great for watching Adobe flash movies off [...] and other movies even in 720p HD.
Great for browsing and doing email, blogs even the odd Excel spreadsheet for my expenses on the road!
I prefer the external keyboard + mouse if I need to enter a lot of text, otherwise onscreen is fine for browsing
Battery life is good, I get nearly 5 hours depending on how I use it.
This is perfect leight weight to take on the road rather than my bulky 15" Toshiba laptop.
With its built in WiFI, GPS and Bluetooth I can quickly connect either to a WiFI hotspot at Starbucks, Hotel or McDonalds!
I can get directions over GPS using either Google or StreetDeck
I also move my pictures from my camera to this unit when I fill it up so doubles up as a photo storage unit on the road.
Taking pictures is a snap if I forget my digital camera and it runs Windows XP and not that slow Vista

My Dell Axim is the stupidest $500 I ever spent. It locks up, won't recharge, needs constant tending and the battery life is like that of an insect. This is my first time using any sort of palm device. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I bought used. It has been a good learning device for me. I had to download the manual which was not a problem. I did not realize that I would loose ALL information if the battery went dead. The battery will go dead even when the unit is off. The unit is hard to turn off. It leaves a ghost on the screen when it is not all the way off and I still struggle with this. I guess I just haven't learned the proper sequence to accomplish full turn off. It has left me high and dry more than once when I thought I had turned it off and just run down the battery instead. There is a backup feature but it is not automatic on this version. I am fairly tech savvy but this still trips me up from time to time. Perhaps it is a quirk of this particular older device or perhaps it is just me.
There are several apps I will never use but they can be stored in the background. The price was right, the features are good. I would probably buy a more recent model where some of these glitches have been resolved by newer technology. This is an okay device with older technology. If you don't mind fiddling around with it, then it's a good buy used. If there is a new model still out there, I would not pay more for it. Put your money in something more tech friendly and up to date.Get more detail about HP iPAQ 2215 Pocket PC.

I ordered this product on 9/6/09. Received notice that it was to be delivered 9/11 - 9/16/09. Received item on 9/12/09. The blue tooth was all black - NOT WHAT I ORDERED. Waited for RMA No. issued on 9/14/09 and returned it to CCMaccesories that day by mail requesting it to be replaced with the one shown on the website. After repeated requests for status of return shipment I rec'd notice on 9/21/09 that the replacement item will be shipped back to me on the 22nd of Sept. Never received. On 9/29/09 rec'd email from Amazon stating that a refund had been processed back to my credit card. I responded that I wanted the replacement of the item I originally orderd as promised, not a refund. To which they replied that they had no more ALL BLACK bluetooth units in stock. I never wanted the all black. I feel like I'm in a circle jerk. I'll take the refund for now and will find the item elsewhere in the meantime I will never order from CCMaccessories again and will tell my friends not to either. This unit is solid and while not as stylish as the last one I had..this was not an issue for me. I synched it with the Karma in 20 seconds. Volume buttons located towards the rear are quick and easy.

I just bought the MEX-BT577U and installed it. I really like the unit but iPhone 3GS users will be disappointed that they cannot connect via the the USB port like they can with their iPods. Sony's advertisements are misleading the consumer by saying that the unit offers iPhone connectivity. It's not unreasonable to assume that when they say iPhone 3G compatible that means the latest 3G iPhones being sold. I would also like to mention that I bought directly from Amazon and when the product arrived, despite being marketed as new, there was evidence that it had been opened (e.g., dusty faceplate, wrinkled installation manual, etc.). Used for car sterio setup in garage. They're the only speekers on this setup. A little light on the bass power, but certianly what I'd expect from only 6-1/2" rounds. Would be fine in a car system with larger speakers in back. Yes, I would buy them again.

Purchased this unit to replace my old one. Chose it for the USB iPod interface. Great unit. Local iPod interface is a bit difficult to use, but holding the MODE button down for a few seconds switches the UI back to the iPod, which is a MUST with teenagers on the boat. Added a USB extension so the kids could plug in behind the drivers seat and change the songs so I can concentrate on driving. Unit has plenty of power, separate sub outputs. I've been using the Viliv S5 for several months and absolutely love the thing. What makes the Viliv S5 more appealing than other devices its' size is that it runs Windows XP - it's regular computer in a 5" form factor. The touch interface that Viliv has put together, from the iCube navigation, to the FastWeb browser make it a joy to use with touch.
The best thing about the Viliv S5 is how long the battery lasts - about 6 hours. It lasts long enough to take from home, bring to work, and then bring home again. The built-in GPS works great too - streets and trips, StreetDeck, etc would be great GPS apps for the Viliv S5.
Here is a quick video I shot while taking the Viliv S5 on a mountain bike trip. I used it play music while I biked. As you'll see in the video, it flew out of my saddle bag after I hit a bump. I was amazed that it turned back on, and except for a few minor scratches, it still works flawlessly.

I have been looking for a device like this for a long time. I need to periodically do some work related things when I am out of the office and I did not want to lug my laptop around everywhere. This device is perfect for a jacket pocket, bag, purse, or car.
Smartphones like BlackBerries, IPhones, and Samsung and LG devices would not work because some of the applications I need are PC only. I was also unsatisfied with some of the smartphone web experiences as many smartphones still only support Flash-lite, not the full version of Flash, and still seem unable to handle a variety of websites. I also wanted to not only be able to read and respond to emails, but also to open and edit attachments as I would be able to on any desktop or laptop computer.
The Viliv is a fully customizable PC. You can pretty much install anything on the Viliv that you can install on a regular PC. I run XP, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite CS, FireFox, and Chrome and they all run as quickly as they do on my Core 2 Duo XP desktop. However, the Adobe Creative Suite is version CS (~2003), and not one of the more processor intensive recent versions.
The onscreen keyboard is not only customizable, but you can replace it entirely with one of the numerous third party options out there. I found the default on screen keyboard to be okay, as some of the more frequently used keys (like numbers and dashes) require typing a mode button before the number keys appear in place of some letter keys. I replaced the default keyboard with the Zero Weight Keyboard, a full screen transparent keyboard that I have found very user friendly. I can thumb type emails at reasonable speeds with minimal errors.
You can use WiFi or WWAN to connect to the Internet. My only complaint about the device is that it is not also a phone. I suppose I could run Skype on it, but I still would not be able to receive calls easily. Although the screen is high resolution, the screen is relatively small compared to a desktop/laptop and you may need to customize some XP settings prior to using the device (like setting Icons and Font sizes to large). Otherwise, the device feels solid and well built and is perfect for those who want an extremely portable PC. Get more detail about Viliv Promotion Pack S5 EXP P 4.8-Inch Net-Tablet PC.

I've had this headunit in my car for a few months now, running to an Alpine amp (for my 12" Type-R in a self built custom enclosure) and a Denon amp (powering a pair of JL Audio VR650 cxi).
To keep it simple, this is a great HU for under $150. It comes with lots of useful features, iPod integration, a beautiful screen, and just a nice style overall. The biggest thing I would like to see changed would be an improved custom equalizer. While you have a decent amount of control over the EQ, I would prefer to tune the response at more frequencies.
It does have 3 pre-amp outputs, which is great.
I recommend this headunit if you're looking for one that works and gives you some tools to tune your sounds. Everything is perfect the only contradiction is the zoom, if you want to use it to full capacity you will need a tripod otherwise you must have a pulse like a rock.
I love this camera because with my old miniDV camcorder you have to spend the same time playing the recorded video in order to transfer to your computer and convert the film to a file but now I just plug this camcorder via USB and my desktop can recognize it as an external drive so you have to open the folder copy and paste the files into your computer and that's it.
Do not expect to take pictures, because the quality is poor and the maximum size you can get is only 640x480.

I have an ICD-UX70. It records voice OK in a large conference room, although the sound from a distance is rather tinny (I found the best results by having the unit within 2m of the person speaking). The unit is very light and small - almost too small to accurately push the buttons if you had thick fingers. The ICD-UX70 allows the recorded audio mp3 files to be dragged and dropped to your computer via USB connection - this is a great feature!
My only complaint is that the unit requires an approximate 10 second wake-up time from being in the OFF/On Hold mode before playing or recording can be done - so that if I want to record something instantly I'd miss the first 10 seconds.Get more detail about Sony ICD-UX71PINK Digital Voice Recorder with 1GB Flash Memory.
worked on a 2009 nissan frontier; se crew cab; w/o fosgate radio.
cons:
no direct buttons for radio stations.
as is, cannot turn off faceplate warning beep when ignition turned off.
pros:
radio stations sound better than stock radio.
for mp3s, lists artist, album, song, folder #, song #, time playing.
2gb usb loads fast; within a few seconds playing music.
can shuffle full usb device or just a folder.
eh:
menu navigation not too bad - for a radio.
control knob takes some getting used to.
control knob is fairly stiff so few accidental selections.
faceplate warning beep:
when the ignition is turned off, 5 seconds later, the radio emits 2 beeps, 3 times, through the speakers - every time; very annoying.
the beeps are supposed to remind you to take your precious faceplate out of your vehicle.
while you can turn off the menu/knob beeps, this sony 'feature' can not be turned off.
